UM Staff use the Technical Integration Office “behind-the-scenes” to: |
| |
- To create a consolidated view of a patient health record and eliminate the need to manually enter patient data into multiple systems
- Request assistance with sharing data between applications
|
 |
CORE Team Application Management is enhanced by: |
| |
- The UMCET application “integration” achieved by transferring and sharing (sending and receiving) vital pieces of information via HL7 (standard) interfaces
-
Examples of this data integration between applications may include:
- Patient Demographics (e.g., name, address, occupation)
- Patient Data (height & weight, allergies, health history)
- Physician Information
- Insurance Information
- Medical Data (e.g., lab results)
|
 |
Patient care is enhanced by: |
| |
- Simplified data acquisition and data entry
- Patients are asked “questions once” rather than multiple times during their healthcare visits
- UMCET supports a large number of “best of breed” or departmental applications that manage UM’s clinical enterprise operations.
|
 |
Our dedicated Integration team includes the following expertise: |
| |
- Interface standards
- Interface architecture and coding
- Interface engine hardware and software
|
 |
Services |
| |
- Collaborative projects with the UMCET Core Teams, clinicians and staff to select, design, develop, test, and “go-live” with the application interfaces to support the sharing of data with other UMCET applications.
-
Enable the “integrated” patient health record by:
- Managing and maintaining existing HL7 interfaces that transfer data between current systems
- Monitoring existing HL7 interfaces for performance, availability, and efficiency
- Evaluate the feasibility to implement new interfaces and data sharing within UM. Requests for New Interfaces can be submitted via the New Interface Request Form.
